Legatum team conquering Mount Kilimanjaro to help END NTDs

Mount Kilimanjaro
Legatum

Over 1.5 billion of the world’s impoverished people are affected by a group of parasitic, bacterial but treatable infectious diseases. Mark, Alan, Nicolas, Liam and Sebastian will take on a seven-day challenge to summit Africa’s highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro, to raise awareness and much-needed funds to help treat and cure millions of people with neglected tropical diseases (NTDs). From its peak, we will declare over Africa that we can see the END for these diseases – and we need your help!

From June 28th to July 6th 2014 our team will:

  1. Scale the world’s highest free-standing mountain to raise funds to change the lives of 100,000 people!
  2. Take step after deliberate step to climb 5,895m (19,341ft) to raise awareness to help end diseases that prohibit people from walking, working or simply accomplishing daily tasks.
  3. Endure and overcome extreme climates, high-altitude sickness and dangerous terrain to raise awareness that NTDs can also be overcome with low-cost treatments applied consistently for a period of time.
