Nick Grono is the inaugural Chief Executive Officer of the Freedom Fund, an ambitious effort to mobilise the knowledge, capital and will needed to end modern slavery. Nick is also a board member of Girls Not Brides: the Global Partnership to End Child Marriage, and was previously the Chair of the Jo Cox Foundation.
Prior to the Freedom Fund, Nick was the inaugural Chief Executive Officer of the Walk Free Foundation, and the Deputy President and Chief Operating Officer of the International Crisis Group (ICG). Nick is a lawyer by background and, prior to ICG, was Chief of Staff and National Security Adviser to the Australian Attorney-General.
He holds a law degree, LLB, with first class honours from the University of Sydney and a Master’s in Public Policy from Princeton University.
